Recipe For Success: Jeff Bezos

Who is one of your mentors?

This is a case study in success.  What is success?  How do you define it? Who has been successful, from your perspective?  I want you to define success for yourself and find an example of this success in the people around you.  The person can be famous or family.  Success is everywhere.  I want you to find it and examine it.  What made this person successful?  Through examining success in others it helps us see a path to success ourselves.  I want you to practice being successful in all areas of your life.  So, engage in this case study and find and fill in the information listed below.  I used Bill Gates as an example

Personal Success Definition

I define success as someone who does something that they love and accomplished and achieved successfulnes and give back to others

Jeff Bezos is the CEO of many successful businesses like Amazon. He has been very successful and is now the richest man in the world. He has given 100 million to help Americas hungry during the virus

Skills for Success

Describe what skills did they need to master to become successful?

Jeff Bezos is a Hardcore Realist, Focusing on Process, not Failure, and being a smart Investor. Jeff is a realist he thinks and weighs all the possibilities and probabilities. Before launching Amazon in the world, Jeff had accepted the fact that the venture might fail and the investment would go down the drain. He has the habit of recognizing the adverse effects and taking the decision based on his assessment. He has experimented and has taken numerous risky decisions, and also that could include investing and takes chances on a company.

How They Used These Skills

Explain how did they use these skills to achieve success?

When seeing the internet rate grow he came up with the idea at first it was a book store and he invested in it, within its first month of launch Amazon sold books in every state in the U.S. and 45 countries around the world

Challenges Overcome

Describe what challenges they had to overcome to be successful?

a toxic mindset one that reflects such basic, human, emotional needs that it’s hard to condemn people for it. Recognizing this, Bezos shared a technique to overcome it in the annual shareholder letter he released on April 17, 2017. Bezos wrote that he values making fast decisions, which often means deciding before you have all the information you’d like. He puts the sweet spot at acting when you have 70 percent of the needed information. The lack of information makes tough decisions even tougher, however, and that prompts the cascade of leadership challenges described above. To overcome them, Bezos introduced a simple linguistic trick that stops these toxic mindsets in their tracks and cuts off the metastasis of difficulties.

Developing Quality Workflow

Work•flow /ˈwərkflō/

“The sequence of industrial, administrative, or other processes through which a piece of work passes from initiation to completion.” – lexico.com

What is a quality workflow?  How do we develop it?  Below are elements of the production cycle that most creative people move through as they create something.  First, we must identify the stages of project production. What is each stage and what are the quality checks for each stage.  Read on and find out!

Stages of Creation Development

Inspiration

How do we find ideas to develop?

we could all just brainstorm together and come up with some ideas or maybe find some inspirations on any type of source

Intention

How do we clarify our specific goal(s) for a project?

explain and give clear specific answers for goals

Pre-production

How can we brainwrite, brainstorm, storyboard, and plan our ideas at this phase?

we could maybe go in a breakout room and give our ideas? or find a way for everyone to communicate and talk to eachother

Production

How do we communicate with each other and execute our plan for this phase? This is where we actually make the project.

we could all be on a call on like a class discord and have a channel for each group or maybe on like skype or some type of source where we can all communicate to eachother then exectute the plan

Post-production

How do we communicate with each other and execute our final stages of the project for this phase? This is where we publish the project.

we communicate from all the stuff i said above and everyone check the project and see if we need to fix or adjust anything with the project and check if everyone is good with it

Presentation/Performance

How do we share our project with our learning community, advisory members, and the world

we could do a screenshare or a video recording and post it to everyone

Feedback

How do we conduct a feedback session at the end of the project development cycle?

we could do like a survey or maybe a jamboard and giveback feedback and suggestions on what we could fix
